The Emir of Rano, in Kano State, Alhaji Tafida Abubakar Ila
II, is dead. The emir passed away on Saturday at the Nassarawa Specialist
Hospital, Kano.

He died at the age of 74.
The late emire was on Friday admitted at Mallam Aminu Kano
Teaching Hospital over an undisclosed ailment.
The Turakin Rano and House of Representatives Member of
Rano, Kibiya and Bunkure, Alhaji Kabir Alhaassan Rururm confirmed the death.
However, The Kano state government said preliminary investigations
into the recent unexplained deaths recorded in the state showed many victims
died from malaria and Cerebrospina Meningitis (CSM).
Also many victims had
underlying medical conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, among
other illnesses, the official added.
